Hi ,

I have been told that my both tubes are blocked. They want to make sure of that by doing laproscopy and also will try make it correct.

Can anybody tell me what would be the cost of IVF in US.

Sorry to hear abt ur tubes. But before thinking abt the IVF n stuff,there is some more to do ,whether the block is there or not.I had a HSG abt 5 months back in that the Dr.found out i had one blocked tube and my other tube is narrow.I wa very worried and was also searching abt IVF .My GYN reffered me to Reproductive Endocrynologyst.They asked me to do a tubal recannulization. U know sometimes this tubes seem to blocked bz of some other reasons like ,spasm of the mussles( do u have pain during the HSG? I guess u came to know abt ur blocked tubes from HSG) in that area and some dry mucus plug or some debris kind of thing. )In my case it was some mucus plug. And they were able to open it.But i m not pregnant yet :(..).So during Tubal recannulisation the RE will be able to open and push these kind of things from tube using a thin wire. Do u know which part of ur tube is closed if it is proximal( near the uterus end),mostly the reasons will be above. If it is Distal( near the ovary end ) sometimes u may need laproscopy.So before doing laproscopy please ask ur Dr abt this Tubal recannulization. Bz it is and outpatient procedure. It will take onely 30-45 mins at the most

And abt IVF i m not sure.But it is mostly depends on the hospital where u r doing it.Range will be from $15000-to 25000.But most of the insurance company wont pay for it :(
