Iam basically from kerala.i recently got married and moved with my husband to mumbai.this city is new to me and even though my second language in school was hindi,i do make lots of mistakes while speaking.so after coming here i dont have any close friends other than my husbands colligues and their wives.
my real problem is my husband loves me very dearly,but he likes watching movies that has lot of violence in it like shooting,killing,with many villans and even heroes turn to be rowdies and villans.he get lots of cassets even english ones dealing with this type of movies.he took me to theater to see Omkara.which was also similar kind.if i tell him please dont get these kindof movies then he tells me that this is the reality in big cities.
now a days iam getting really scared to step out of the house alone.are these rowdies for real?are they behind all the bombings.i may sound silly and stupid.but iam really scared.i dont know where else to go?help me out please..... Some portions of some movies reflect reality I think...but please remember that they are stories first and foremost...they are more for entertainment than real time documentaries...just as romantic and comedy movies like Heraferi are fun, but does it really happen in reality? I dont think so...similarly action movies might be enjoyable to your husband but they are only movies.

Yes, bomb blasts do happen, but if you watch the news, you'll know who is behind them and what all you can do to be more careful of your surroundings.

Omkara btw was based in a small town, so I dont see how that reflects big city reality...but anyways...

You might not see big time violence and fighting on the streets like it is portrayed in the movies, but at the same time, if you look away from the movies and at reality, it is common sense to be careful when you are going out alone (specially at night)...You don't need to be scared, you just need to be careful...

I suggest you start reading newspapers and magazines to become more aware of the world. They represent reality more than any movie.
