I recently give ragi to my 20 month old son & it seems like he is gassy & constipated.Is it ragi just make sure.

it is better to cook ragi powder in water or milk. start giving it in little amount.gradually baby stomach will get adjusted.better u mix with little half grinded rice powderwhile cooking.its a good diet.

Hi tina,

I remember that my mom use to soak ragi granules in water and grind it in to smooth batter adding water, then cook it. When it is cooked add milk and sugar if needed and mix well without forming lumps and put off fire. You can also add some ghee to it. If you don't have whole ragi, you can use ragi flour and cook adding water and then proceed! As ragi is considered as heating agent it may cause stomach upset to the kids, so adding milk and ghee will reduce the heat. Never give ragi alone without adding milk.
