Trying since long:For Jazy - Breast Discharge

Hi Jazy

I have a same situation as yours. I am ttc since Nov 04, concieved in Nov 04 and miscarried in Dec 04. I have perfectly normal prolactin levels and yet I have watery discharge from my left breast from last abt 8 years. My gynae prescribed Bromocriptine and I have been taking 5mg per day from last 10 months. But there is no change in the discharge. My gynae has no other alternative medication. I posted a query few weeks ago to know the alternate medication, but seems this is a rare problem. But I would be eager to know in case anyone has tried something else and got rid of this problem.

Regards
Naina

hi ...thanks 4 the reply...no it is not rare ..some people dont check their breasts ...as they hav no idea abt it.or not aware....so ....! it is due to PCOD too.
only thing we can do is , not to tease breasts agian n again.
good luck to all of us

Hi Jazy
You are right. This problem is quite common, but the uncommon/rare is having discharge with normal prolactin levels. If the test results show high prolactin, taking bromocriptine is justified, but I really wonder why do some people have breast discharge even with normal prolactin levels...just like you & me! The symptom is there but the results show otherwise.
And yes, its advisable not to stimulate the breasts, but I have observed...it doesnt help much! :(
Btw, for how long have u been ttc? and do you have history of irregular periods. I would like to know what other similarities do we have..may be we can do some research for the medical science:-)

Take care
Naina
