hey guys my daughter is 8 mths old and she is lactose intolerant from the fourth mth( lots of loose stools thats how i got to know)!but i continued with my milk but at 7 mths i just stopped breast feedin her now she totally on soya milk!the prob is that she stil shits 4 times a day and doc says that her digestive system is weak cos she is eatin & drinkin o.k but not puttin on wt at all am plannin to start homeopathy for her so that her digestive system gets stronger! do u guys think that her digestive sys wil become o.k as she grows or will she be like this only .& my ped has said that i cannot give her any med!!!!! what shoul i do????? aarthi replied. Hi - my friend's kid suddenly developed this when he was 7 months old. The doctor advised to stop lactose - any cow's milk for about 2 weeks.

However breast feeding shld be continued, but the initial jet of milk from the breast has to be expressed out and subsequently the child has to be fed. This is coz the first jet of milk (approx about 15-20ml) are high in lactose.

Now hes 9months old and he has gradually built up tolerance for the lactose and he has resumed his milk and breast feeding.

But the process is very slow and the lactose diet has to be planned carefully.

First of all, plz stop soy milk and start giving soy formula / lactose free formula. Babies digestive system is not well developed before their first birthday. you can try giving ur daughter after her 1st bday. dont worry, she can digest milk at that time...all the best,
