Dear viji
If you plan to go for IUI, try to do procedure very close to ovulation timing, that's where the secret of success is. I know cases who have repeated failure of IUI, and the reasons are timing of procedure, and un-necessary stress. I know the latter is difficult to deal with regardless how much I would tell, your Dr. tells or even your elders. Managing with stress is personal issue and one has to learn to express some trust in procedure, Dr. and most important in him/herself.

I would recommend complete bed rest for 2 weeks following the test.

Not necessarily you will face some symptoms, but failure of symptoms does not rule out success, therefore my kind suggestion would to continue with rest, avoid eating outside, only home made fully cooked meals, no fats, no eggs, no raw salads, no salad dressings and no lifting or benting until you confirm success of procedure or experience period.

the suggestion would be same if you fail and plan to do IUI in next cycles or even try to conceive naturally.

To know the ovulation timings, two things, an ultrasound and blood test to measure LH hormone on time to time. If you live in USA you could also use OPK. Remember to enjoy life in this cycle as you are going to invest some money and therefore don't want to harbor negative thoughts or stress with you or your spouse.

Your spouse should avoid warm showers, keep on cold showers, wear cotton textured undergarments and keep them loose type of Boxer not snuggly fit underwears. Drink plenty of water from 10 days before semen collection and until it's collected. He should also avoid eating outside to keep his sperms healthy and on high counts.
Good luck
Archie
