Hi Nikki,

Juices are good but they need to be squeezed at home, you can start with mousambi, orange and apple juice, 2 spoons diluted with warm water, do not add sugar. The form of sugar present in these fruits is fructose and cannot do any harm, slowly reduce the water and give only juice, can be during the afternoons, its a good source of vitamin C. Do not give juices from outside, they have preservatives. My son is also 7 months, i have been giving him juices, has been no problem at all. All the best.

Raagi is also called as Nachani in Marathi.

You can get raagi flour from Indian store.
Preparation Method:
1:Mix 1 tablespoon of flour in 1 cup milk.
2:Add sugar according to the taste.
You could also add some elachi powder.
3:Heat the mixture for 5-6 minutes. Constantly stir while you heating it up otherwise the kheer will get burnt.
4:The kheer will thicken after you heat it. So make sure not to heat too much.

If you are in India, you can buy ready made packets or raagi flour that has sugar and elachi mixed with the flour. You just need to mix with milk and heat.

Hope that helps!

I would follow Geetika's advice. Only thing is avoid fruit juices. My peditrician always tells me that fruit juices have lot of sugar and should be avoided if possible.

u can always give him dal ka pani,or make khichdi, steam any fruit like apple or pear and than mashed it or puree in mixer and give him that in breakfast, similarly boil veggies like carrots and peas and puree them and feed him that, but before u do this would like to tell u to introduce one thing at a time like if giving apple give only apple for few days or a week and watch for allergy or any other symptoms keep giving wot u usally give him but do not intrioduce two new thing togther as if some allergy occur u wont be able to know with whomm it occured.
if raagi is available give him that too.rice is nice as it is easy to digest,so khicdi, rice kheer suji kheer halwa and fruits annd veggis
best of luck
