Hello Priya,

When teaching your son to form sentences, point out items around the house or when you are outside and talk to him in complete sentences. Two year old children are just beginning to learn how to put words together. After seeing your examples for some time, he will begin to copy you and try it for himself.

For potty training, that is very easy. Put him on the potty every two hours, every day. Do not ask him, just say to him, \";Its time for potty\"; and physically put him on the potty. Praise him whenever he voids in the potty. If he is sitting there for a few minutes without doing anything, take him off the potty but do not scold him. Just put him back on the potty in another 2 hours. This method worked quite well with both my kids.

dear priya,
I have an older child and a son who is 2.3 months. I agree my son speaks more than 25 words but that is only because he has an older sibling who is a chatter-box.

To your second q, do not push him. I think he is doing very well for a 2 year old. My older one got potty trained fully at the age of 3.3years. so he is not very late. Some kids take their time and as you said he speaks only a few words he might be the kinda person who does not express verbally. Help him in that department.
He sounds like a normal, intelligent 2 year old. so do not worry. Just my 2 cents.
