hi to all, my baby is 5 months old, i intend returning to work next month. How do i get him to have more of bottle feed when i leave him with the sitter? He is breastfed 8-10 times and is often reluctant to take to the bottle. He has no fixed routine, most of the time, he sleeps at 3-4AM has bottle feed at 9 AM and sleeps till 1130AM, has his bath and cerelac and sleeps till 6, followed by juice or dal or soup at 8 and bottle at 11PM. it would be possible for me to feed him upto 10AM and then after 6PM only, what do i do? Could u advice me on how to alter his sleep patterns too?It so happens that we are forced to take him out on a drive at 4AM just to put him to sleep!

Rekha, if you are going back to work, you can pump breastmilk and give to your baby. I started working when my daughter was 2 months and was giving her pumped breastmilk till she was 13 months. Breastmilk is best food for infants. Also to set your baby's routine don't let him/her sleep for so long in the afternoon. Let your baby sleep for 2 hours in the afternoon, then probably wake him up, play with him. Basically do not let him sleep around evening time, keep him occupied so he will tired around 9pm and sleep well after that.

My daughter used to cry a lot around midnight and would not sleep till 2am-3am. To set her rountine, we did not pick her up when she used to cry around midnight. She used to cry for 15-20 minutes and then sleep on her own. Its hard but do-able...

Take care
