Hey, why only kids. Many adults too are terrified of being in the dentist' s clinic (i certainly am. No doubt, in many cases this is a result of painflu associations in early childhood.
Though dont have any kids yet, I am sure I can apply a loit of this to my own life and try to overcome my fears.
And surely one day I will apply the same to my kids!

The article was very good. However, regarding one of the tips offered - about clubbing the dental appointment with a favourite activity - I don' t think it will work. if you schedule the appointment prior to the mall visit or whatever, the child will feel uncomfortable moving about with the pain and the swelling. Ajnd if you schedule if after the mall visit, the child would not have enjoyed even that since she would know that the dentist was waiting for her. So I don' t think it' s a workable idea.

I agree. Keep it short and sweet. All said and done, few children can ever enjoy going to the dentist. If they accept it as something necessary, that itself is great.

If everything fails, you will just have to take him forcibly. After all, it is for his own good. And think of the pain in sotre if his problem teeth are left untreated.
