Hi Mommies,

Can u pls share ur experience, advise & tips on how do i encourage & teach my 1 year old boy to :

a) EAT BY HIMSELF ... currently both eating or drinking anything by himself is a big zero!

b) WALK ... Current status .. crawling rapidly & can pull himself to stand against sofa, chairs etc .. btw i am against walkers

c) TALK ... Current status .. is babbling .. makes sweet sounds & sometimes says mama very clearly but i am still not sure if he understands & says it .. it just FEELS lovely :-)

D) TOILET TRAINING ...currently does susu, potty in his nappies/diapers ... i can understand
when he is doing potty as he makes a peculiar face but his timings arent very regular still

Pls advise on all or any topic .. i will be grateful & PLEASE DO REPLY SOON if u can as i
will get little to no access to a computer after 12 May.

Thanks

Nidhi

hi nidhi,

I understand yr curiosity and thee eagerness in your sons development.
Each child achieves his/her milestone at the determined time.
Still, I can give u some answers as i am a mommy to a 18months old daughter.

Eating ....just give the bottle to yr son and sit a little away from him so that he will not seee u..at the same time make sure he is drinking the milk and not choking!!...my daughter drinks milk on her own but for the last 1 ounce she wants me...

Walking.....bring him a push and go kind of a walkeer like in india..u get those wodden ones remembere ? but always be by his side and never leave him alone by himself...he might fall and get hurt. What i did to my daaughter was that i used to makee here go from one end of the sofa to the other by herseelf...and at the end keep a side table or center table little away from the sofa...and keep something attractive like an applee or a veggie or a toy which is colorful they will leeave the sofa to walk a few steps and take the toy..u will be amazed how they do it.

Talking...u need to constantly talk to him ..or atleast be in a house where there are lots of peoplee...or else leave him with littlwe oldere kids..they will pick up talking very soon.

Potty training: has to begin only by 18 months till them they say they don't have bladder control.

hope this helps
