hi friends,
last week has turn out disaster for me.i went thru laparoscopy and hysteroscopy and results were that my both fallopian tubes are blocked and there are 2 small tubercles on each tube.rt tube is oedematous.even there was collection of peritoneal fluid .dr has aspirated this fluid and he had send for lab testing.report will be ready by sat. even he saw 2 polyps on cervix.
i was shocked at my terrible report.i asked my dr why didnt he open my tubes he told me that he is suspecting tuberculosis.he advised me to go for TB IGg IGM blood testing.my IGG is negative but igm is weakly positive it should be below 1 but my count is 1.2 .
i am surprised at my report cause before one and half year i went thru HSG that time my both tubes were patent and healthy.
now my chances of natural conception is over .only alternative left is that i have to go thru ivf .now what i am supposed to do .if my report show that i have TB is it safe to conceive while continuing Rx for TB which will be for 6 months.if i conceive during TB treatment will there be congenital malformation.or should i wait till my TB treatment is over.please help me .any small advicewill be helpful.
thanks sanjana and sunshine for your advice on laparoscopy.god bless us all,
raveena

Dear Raveena

So sorry to read all the troubles. It often happens that at times we do get shocking results. But dont worry ..have faith. I know its easy to say all this but getting depressed will only worsen the condition. At the same time i was glad to read ur second msg that u r handling the situation courageously.

Technically i cant be of much help to u .I wont give u any advice of where i dont really know much.
but what archie says sure makes sense.. that get well before u ttc so that u have a healthy pregnancy and moreover a healthy baby.Things will fall in place and soon ur drean will be true.
Do write in whenever u feel like sharing or just someone to talk to. we r always there for support.
May god hold ur hand and guide u thru this though times
lots of love
sanj

Dear Archie,Sunshine,
thank u for your advice.i was wondering what to do. u cleared my doubts.
frankly i feel myself like a fool all this days i had this infection within myself but i never had any abnormal symptoms.all this days whatever tests i performed all were normal .now i have accepted the fact that i am suffering from TB and i will wait to conceive till TB is tottally cured
actually even my horoscope is showing late conception i never beleived it i wanted to try i thought i could change my destiny .things will happpen when it should happen.
now the another worrying factor is my husband has been detected with varicocele 2 degree.dr s have advised me not to go for surgery for varicocele.in this is it possible to froze my husband s sperm for 1 to 2 yrs.how long frozen sperm remain viable?
i will let u know my other reports once again thank u archie ,sunshine .take care

hi Raveena,
I'm really sorry to hear about all these things that you are going through. And I'm not that aware of all the treatments. However, I do think that it's best to go with what Archie says. After all, ttc while on medication can't be good. I really hope you get well soon. I will be praying for you.
I'm so sorry Raveena that i cannot offer any practical advice. All i can do is say that please trust in God. And take strength from him to be able face your problems.
Take care,
With love,
Sunshine

Dear Raveena,
It's dreadful to note all mishaps, but the good side is you know the fact and what's happening in side.
I am glad that your Dr. did not open the tubes when he suspect TB and infact looks like you have sort of that.

I would not recommend ttc while on course of antibiotics and at least 3 cycles after course. Make sure afterwords tubes are open or make them open by another hysteroscopy and have 2-3 cycles post surgery and then only ttc, looks like another 9 -12 months of wait before you ttc.

I am sorry for this advise but this is good for your situation.

Archie

Subject:  Genital TB detected AFTER embryo transfer

Hi all! i noticed this forum is many years old, hope some of you are still around to help.

I underwent a hysteroscopy prior to my 2nd IVF attempt, during which my doc did endometrial biopsy and sent the sample to the lab for mycobacterium culture test. It came negative for the 1st week and 2nd week, after which doctor did my embryo transfer.

Now, after 4 weeks, suddenly the sample has turned positive for TB. I´ m in shock and don´ t know how this will effect my chances of embryo implantation, how the treatment of TB will be, etc etc.

I´ m still 1 week away from my pregnancy test, hence very, very worried.

It´ ll be great if you can share your inputs with me.

Thanks and regards,
zoya
p.s. I underwent myomectomy to remove a fibroid, underwent tube test and my tubes seemed fine, and underwent hysteroscopy to ensure no adhesions after myomectomy - all have so far been okay.
