hi all
Congraluations to all the wonderful mothers who made it and love to our dear little ones . I am really thankful to so many of you who supported with your replies and suggestions throughout my pregancy time . Well my little boy is doing good , initially he had jaundice , so i had been concentrating that he should be gaining weight , so though he couldnot latch on propoerly i pumped the milk and used to feed him in bottle . Now not that he doesnot like Breastfeed , he takes long hours and doesnot drink enough so after every feed i pump and then again feed him in bottle the whole process is about 2 hours till he goes to sleep , because of this i am too tired and attimes i donot have energy to pump so i have in hand some formula milk to supplement . any tips so that he can drink milk good enough directly from me , now he is gaininng weight fine . Attimes i also think bottle is okay because when i get back to work soon it will be easy for him , please help
Thanks
Preethu

Hey Preetu, I am going through the same thing as you... my baby doen't want to latch on and I have stopped making him try to.... I have met many a lactation specialists but no luck....

I've been pumping every 3-4 hours instead of every 2 hours and also supplementing him with formula when I dont express enough milk.. pumping every 3-4 hours has given me a bit of relief.. every 2 hours was quite tiring like you said... even with the electric pump...

My suggestion would be, to not worry too much if he doesn't latch on... what's important is that he gets his food ... so if you have to use a bottle, go for it..

Hi Avi
My midwife who visits me home since his birth had been giving hopes that some babies pick up drinking from breasts when they are around 6 weeks old thats when they grow really , so she suggested though he drinks effectively or not always feed him for 30 mts from breasts , and then change pampers and feed him from bottle the expressed mothermilk , this way probbaly we can retain the current milk production .
Like u said i am thinking positive because when i am back at work , bottle could help .

Vindhya no i am using electric pump , take care

Hi Preethu,

Sorry to hear about the jaundice and glad that your baby is fine now.

I had a question. You said that you wouldn't have energy to pump. Are you using a manual pump?

I am not sure what the solution is to switch the baby back to breatfeeding, did you talk to your lactation consultant or your doctor. Or may be others would have some solution.

Take care,
Vindhya

Diaper Service Provider,Bangalore
Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a Diaper Service Provider in Bangalore? They generally provide cloth diapers and replace them with a new set every 2-3 days.

Thanks in advance
