I am successfully breastfeeding my son, Avi at the moment and hope to for at least 6 months.

I was just wondering how many of you are breastfeeding and what are you eating?
I want to deperately lose weight...I have 40lbs to lose..some of it is from the pregnancy and some from b4 I even got pregnant with my now 4 yr old daighter...!

Actually I only put on 12lbs in this pregnancy....but I think I have not lost much of that.

Should I be eating 'regular' food or something else? I am eating a lot of coconut to get the milk and taking fenugreek.

I am eating regular non-fattening food but I have not lost any significant weight yet.
My son will be 3 months old next week.

I am walking briskly at least 3 times a week in my neighborhood...what else can I do to lose the weight without compromising the milk production.

Please advice...I'm desperate.

Sonia tejmom replied. drink lots of water.they say garlic helps in milk secretion. your baby is only 3 months old. so concentrate on your baby more. ofcourse continue doing excercise. but dont worry. i was 61 when i delivered and i lost weight automatically. iam now 54. i did not do much excercise shweta replied. it's cerainly very difficult to lose all the baby fat. try to exercise as much as u can. atleast an hour of aerobic exercises. i started running after my postpartum period. and i've lost almost all my weight. i've only 7lbs remaining on me.
try to eat healthy and smaller meals than one big meal. more fruits, no fried, no sweets.

your milk production isn't going to be affected at all.

skipping, yoga is also very good.
