Do you appreciate everything your dad does for you? Do you still look up to him as your hero? Do you celebrate Father's Day? What do you do to make it special for your dad?

agreed in the essence. but dont you think that we often take our love for our parents, sibling fro granted? we are so lost in our own world, without meaning to, we end up alientating ourselves from our families.

occassions like father' s day are a reason to stop and think about how much we love our families and what we can do (and would love to do) to make them happy. if you can retain that relationship on all days, you dont need fathers day!

You have really opened something here. becoz i just realised how mechanical our responses are whether to Father´ s day, Independence day, World Aids Day whatever...

But one way to make a differnece in our lives would be to simply retain this on other days... sooner or later you are bound to internalise it.

It' s embarassing to suddenly take up one day and treat your father like birthday boy. why not just be natural? i don' t like these special days. there ar emoments when you feel really close to dad. moments when you form that connection. it needs to be spontaneous. this way everyone will be stressed trying to get it right and dads will also feel awkward.

I don´ t agree. Everyone likes to be reminded that they are special. Why deny your dad that feeling? If you feel embarassed it is your problem. It´ s not the fault of the occasion or the idea.

No pointing in wasting dad' s money to do something special for him. I generally make a card out of colored cardboard and some home stuff. I also make him his favorite coffee and snacks.. He loves it...Life is really short. We gotta show how much we love our loved ones!
