Trying since long:Clomid :Archie

Dear Archie,
I'm an pcos patient having irregular cycles of 2 or 3months taking metformin 1500mg.(120lbs/5'2\";)No effect with metformin alone, so last month i was put on clomid 50mg from cd5-9(eventhou my Dr.refused to go on 50mg-their trial starts with 100mg- atlast she permitted on my request of 50mg).I failed to ovulate in clomid 50mg based on BBT chart. Not preg on blood test. Now again this month i was put on provera & then clomid100mg & metformin1500mg.My question is-
1) Is ultrasound necessary to take to make sure i'm ovulating while on clomid?.My Dr. says BBT chart alone is ok.Is BBT chart reliable?.I'm taking BBT chart in my wakeup time.
2)i took provera after 31days of my previous cycle to induce my period.First day started with spotting & 2nd day the flow is low compared to my history.Since i've a history after 2 months-is it ok and can i count the second day as
cd-1 & continue for clomid100mg?.
Please,Archie please help me by answering my doubts.I'm really waiting for ur answers-Please...
Regards,
Sri.

Hi

i am almost on the similar treatment. Just a suggestion from my side, try taking Primolute N for inducing period. I dun't know for sure but somehow i think its better as in my case my periods are ok if i take primolute n but same as urs (spotting and less bleeding) when i took provera. U may speak to ur doc regarding this coz she'll the best judge of ur situation.

Regards
Parul

Sri,
Looks like all is going OK with treatment.
Clomid is not miraculous to everybody. It may time while you to get there. I know girls tried six cycles and failed to ovulate.

BBT is very reliable when done properly. I bet you follow guidelines of your Dr.

If the test was done and provera was offered sure you did not ovulate and sure you did nog conceive in case BBT failed as you imagine.

You should continue clomid for at least 6 cycles unless you get pregant before sixth trial.

Archie
