Feeding:Will not take bottle

Hi All,

I have a 3 month baby girl she is exclusively breastfed. Once in a while, i would like to give her formula. Before, when I went out, my mom was feeding her formula from bottle and she took it fine. But now my parents have left and myself and my husband try to feed her through bottle and she wont take it. I think She doesn't know to suck through the bottle. Her face expression also changes when the formula touches her lips. I am feeding her similac with iron. Please suggest.

Thanks.

Hi,
My only suggestion is that continue on brest feeding as long as you can and you try to eat healthy to maintain strenth and for milk production. I had the same issue for my son, even though he is completely brestfed, I wanted him to get used to bottle (formula) atleast once or twice a day. We started trying when he was 2 months old, my mom tried to feed with the bottle, did not work, I tried, my husband tried, we bought all kinds of formulas, all brands, he refused all of it. His doctor suggested that he should be fed by a third person. So i called my neighbor every day for contineous 10 days for his feeding but he did not take it from either. Finally I started feeding him again but added a pinch of sugar(I know it is not advisable) to Nestle Good start formula, he started taking it, but he had really watery stool nearly 4 times a day, so I had to stop it. Finally I am just sticking on to breast milk and now he is 5 months old, I am giving him rice cereal twice a day along with breast milk and he loves it. Good luck, let me know if you succeed in bottle feeding!!
