Name: th hi.when the sprem count is low(11 million),whats the next step?is it IUI?has someone got that done?is it safe?how much does it cost?whats the success rate?i've got info about it from the net but it would be very kind if someone shres her personal experience.AND SNEHA THANKS AGAIN FOR REPLYING.

Low sperm count

Ideally the minimum required for conception with a little aid is 20 million(WHO guidelines).However yours falls short of it.Is there any other identifiable problem?infection or a varicocele.What did the hormones and local examination reveal?If you dont have any identifiable problem-try a course of antibiotics,antioxidants and sperm cellular energizers-ubiQ etc.Repeat your count after a 4 day abstinence.If the count is bet 10-20 million-you could try iui perhaps for 2-3 cycles-however the best option for you would be an IVF-ICSI cycle.All the best.
