Health Issues:Toddler not increasing weight

Name: Archana Hi,

My son was born 2.5 Kg. By the end of one year he reached 10kg. of weight. He is now 18 months old and just weighs 10.5 Kg which is my major concern. I am posting my diet plan .. please suggest how I can improve his weight.

Morning 6:30 AM - Raagi
8:15 AM - Small cup milk
9:30/10:00 AM - Little breakfast
12:00 - Lunch (rice with curry and Curd rice with banana mixed in it)
02:30 - Threptin Biscuits
04:00 - Small cup milk
05:00/05:30 - Apple/ Banana
06:30 - Cornflakes/ Bread (1 loaf)
08:00 - Nestum fruit (4 Scoops)
Then he goes to sleep..he will not getup till morning.

I would also like to know, if I introduce Egg for him, will that help me in his weight gain?

Please suggest.

Hi Archana

Trust me 10.5 kg is a good weight. between 12 and 24 months ideal weight should be between 8 to 14 Kg, u dont want a fat toddles or slim, keep in mind that they r gorwing also heightwise. U can introduce Chapati which is made of Ghee or butter or stuffed paranth again made with butter etc. for eggs u can make eggy bread or sunny side up fry egg then dip the buttered toast in yellow part n give 2 ur son or if he like rice then how about stir fry egg rice, boil rice, whisk egg add salt n black pepper mix well add boiled rice,mix again then cook in frypan till egg is done. hope this is any help to u

Toddlers weight not increasing.

My daughter is of 18 mths. Her weight is 7.8 kg since last 7 months. It has not increased at all. when she was of 1 year she was eating very less just a fist full of rice in whole day and little fruits or dry fruits. she was not drinking cow milk at all. i gave her but she refused. she was brest feeding that time. now i have stoped her feeding milk. she has started eating fist full of rice 2 times in day. and sometimes a half bread. she sometimes like rava dosa. my concer is abt her growth. ppl say dont worry as some times kids grow slow but will grow suddenly later. but i think her nutrition is not correct. she is not accepting chappati, or cow milk , i have started giving her half cup cow milk with force. she blow that out of mouth still i do it to make her drink little at least. she eats one slice of cheese sometimes. she like to eat strawberry 2 daily.
Is her weight , nutrition of concern. we are vegetarian, but if needed shall i start eggs for her, can u tell me what type of other foods i give her. i tried parathas but she dont eat any thing which is like chappati.
