Dear friend,
i am undergoing ivf/icsi from 1st wk of april.tking treatment in Mumbai. staying in a hotel n eating hotel foods only. my worry is, is it going to affect my ivf? Assistant dr. told me that i can go back after 2days of ET!!but i thought once embryo transfer is done(after 5days rest) i want to go back to aborad as my native is very far frm mumbai n no good Dr. is it okay to travel by air so soon or i need to take more rest? am stressed out plz help me with your exp. n suggestions...plz...

Hi Likitha,

I' m not sure if the hotel foods will affect your IVF. I don' t think so.. try and eat simple food.. daal, chawal, sabji.. Avoid oily and spicy food. YOu should be fine.
After my ET I stayed at the hospital for a few hours (altough the doc said it was unnecessary) and travelled to my parents home in Mumbai.. I stayed there about 5 days and then went back by road to Pune.
I suggest you take a room at the hospital iteself and stay there a couple of days immediately after ET. That shoudl solve your food problem. Docs usually say that air travel is safer compared to road or train travel, cos there are less jerks.
I think the best time for you to travel back would be anytime 2 to 7 days after ET.. My doc had told me not to postpone traveling till after 10 days.
