I am sorry to note your mishap.
Unfortunately I have to go with gynecologist view, I would say the same. Not trying to upset you but trying to explain the truth.
however I am excited and happy to note that a infetility specialist is trying his best to induce ovulation from your so called non-functioning ovaries. Sweeties when ovaries are stopped producing eggs there is nothing one can do. But keep hopes that Dr. Kannan's treatment may make a miracle and you will product follicles of normal size, and lead to ovulation, which directly reflects in pregnancy.

At time we have to believe in nature more than religion, and I feel sorry that educated people also try to follow what seems unexplanable ro not so good for our own sake.

Many thanks for a wonderfull reply. Since I am basically a science graduate I was able to understand ur reply. My husband says he wants to see his wife's childhood in his daughter and I would be able to accept his daugher bearing some other face. so worse come worse both our ethical and personal reasons we may not go for donor egg. We feel it would be better to adopt a baby and give the baby the shelter of mother and father.

True that God is bounty of miracle and one would only have to hope for that with uncertainty for sure.

The treatment you referred is not radically different from Estradiol, which is what Dr. Kannan want to try on you next.

About egg donor and baby characteristics. Fortunately I am very good at genetics and unfortunately I will have to give you following explanation. The baby gets features, characters and looks mainly from chromosomes. In the case where egg donor or sperm donors are used the biological mother and father is actually the donor and the one who is carrying in case of egg donor is not really a biological mother. She only provides nutrients and environment, in other words she plays a role of nurse in strict genetic/biological words. Where as the baby is result of fruitful recombination between a single sperm and egg, which necessarily carry half of the chromosomal content from sperm (biological father) and half from egg (biological mother). Depending on which of the two content is strong for each feature/ character or look the expression would take place, for example some babies look like biological father but carry behavioral properties of biological mother. Unfortunately in pregnancy succedded from egg donor will have 50% chance of baby to carry resemblance and behavioral properties from donor and 50% from sperm (which in your case will be your spouse). However, you will serve a kind of sarogate mother!

Hope you basic yet an interesting doubt is cleared from this explanation.

I hate to say but give a trials to Dr. Kannans effort and both of you should try to figure out if the egg donor is acceptable option for you. If you are worried about looks and characters resemblance, see if your sibling or close of your relatives who you appreciate at the level of looks and bahavior can serve as an egg donor.

thanks for ur reply..but I dread to hear it again that only donor's egg is possible. I havent lost hope yet. I pray to God Almighty to help me and hope some day he would help me (I think thats the only way out ..)
I came across an article in net that somewhere in US, the doctors were able to make a lady conceive who had elevated levels of FSH (Premature ovarian failure) with dosages of ethinyl oestradiol . Can I suggest the same to my doctor. does this give desired result.
If I had to go for donor's egg. Will the baby in my womb from due to donor's egg have my characteristics or donor's characteristics. Will the baby resemble me or the donor
