Due Date Club December 2005:Food to avoid gases?

Hi all,
My baby is having some gas problems since last few days.I would appreciate if you all could share your opinions on what food to eat and what food to avoid so that both me & the baby dont get gases .
According to what I know one should avoid garlic, onions, cauliflower, cabbage, broccli.
But I was also reading that garlic is good to increase milk supply. SO I am confused.
WHat kind of food are you all eating.
Thanks
meghana

hi meghana
u re right include potatoes and beans nd tur dal in that list.
all children get colic pain, mostly all.it takes a month to 6 months to settle down.
though my dr.has said follow normal diet.
they normally cry a lot around 6 in the evening.
dont let anyone misguide u saying that the baby is crying because ur milk is inadequate or she is hungry.
Dr.s do prescribe colic drops.my pead has refused to do so.
Make the baby lie on the stomach to sleep (tke cre of the nose)it relieves the pain.
also hing pwdr(asoefetida)with little water applied on the belly area helps.
Castor oil applied on the belly area helps.
dnt worry tke care
luv

Very good doctor
Hi,

I delived a baby boy in March 2009. I consulted Dr.Chitra Ramamurthy during my pregnancy cycle. She' s one of the best doctors in Bangalore. Not many people know about her. She handled the entire process in a very professional manner. I used to visit her clinic in Jayanagar 3rd block. She is very caring and affable. She says what to do and what not to do. ... - Sandhya Rao [View Message]

So long as your baby is feeding, that' s all that really matters. These days, formulas are packed with everything the baby needs, and although it is never as good as breast milk, it' s perfectly fine. It sounds like maybe what you are missing is the bonding that breast feeding provides? My first child had both breast and bottle milk for the first 6 months, when I had a mis... - Jhumri [View Message]
