Feeding:help me with my baby-feeding

Hi,
I think in this message,i will just complain about my baby ,but other than this issue she is the best baby I have ever seen..

My baby is nine months old.To tell you from the beginning ,my baby since her birth was breast fed and suddenly in her third month due to her under weight her PED advised us to substitute with the bottle which started our problems.
My baby hated having bottle and as she couldnt do it with bottle we had to forcibly do that with a spoon (laying her flat on my legs, this was my mother's idea). Our problem got worsened at the time of cereal, she hated that too .we tried in all the ways (carseat, bouncer etc)..I got tired to feed her for hours and hours and she is tired of laying flat on my legs. finally, our daily routine ends up with lots of tears.I got vexed up with these methods, If i had to feed her anything either the formula or the cereal I had to lay her flat on my legs and feed her with a spoon which she hates.
I feel so bad feeding her when she is crying.but my only motto is to make her gain the exact weight she had to be.but she is still thin and underweight.

My concern is ,is there any other way I can make my baby drink with a bottle or sipper??
Does any one have any idea to feed the baby seated other then the car seat,(may be my baby is not liking to be laid flat)?
How can i make her like the food, like cereal, veggies, fruits or formula?
how can i make her gain weight??

I am so sorry for such a long message but I just wanted make you to understand the situation from the beginning.May be I am bit confusing in expressing.so please kindly forgive me and help me with a solution ASAP.

hi worried mom,
i am goin thru the exact scene. my baby started accepting cereal very nicely in the begining(4 months) and something happened at around 7 months when my entie day is about trying to feed him and he just rejecting the food. it is vey depressing. distracting the baby does help and also giving a lot of variety. but there are good days and bad ones.
good luck!

In the initial days when i switched over to weaning i also faced the similar problem. My baby use to dislike the plain milk, so i tried giving her milk by adding fruits like banana and chikoo which she relished. Distract her by either playing with her fav toy or by switching on the tv.

Dear Worried mom,
I exactly know what you are going thru. I went thru the same thing. My son was/is underweight and refused the bottle. After so many tears and stress, My husband discovered Dr. Brown's bottle. Babies who don't take bottle, generally do take Dr. Brown's bottle. Try that. Also for feeding solid, you should try taking you baby out. (Like park, mall etc...) where she is easily distracted. You can try to play with her as well. Anything that can distract her, try that. I used to take my son to the park. Looking other kids he used to stay busy and I used to feed him.

If your baby is sitting well, you can try high chair to feed her. Also show her that you are eating as well. May be looking at you, she will feel like eating as well.

Hope this helps!
Good luck! I feel your pain !

-Shital

i let my baby lie on the floor and feed her by showing her some toys etc. She feels free on the floor, can keep kicking her legs and hands can try to catch the toy. Also u can try to make the ceral tasty by adding little sugar or salt to it.
initially babies refuse to drink using the bottle because they miss the bonding they get while breast feeding. U must give her the bottle when she is hungry, then she will start and later Njoy the bottle. Since the formula milk is sweet unlike the brest milk.
