Can anyone tell me what is the right age for joining a kid in play school? My kid is 20 months.. v.active but he never moves with others even with neighbours.. and he speaks only 2-3 words which is v.low compared with the other kids of his age.Will joining in pre school help him to talk well and move easily with others.. some say that 20 months is too early.. but some suggest that mingling with other kids will help him.. what u all suggest.. help me.. How about taking him to play groups? You can form a group with your friends and meet once a week or you could take him to social places like mall etc. and just let him be. There will be a play area in every mall and he could interact with other kids there. The other suggestion is to enquire in your local community college for programs for toddlers. Most of the time they will have it and they might even have toddler groups. Some of them will have play area open for just $2 per visit and it will be a great place to meet new people and make friends.
I don't know much abot school. You could even try daycare fro a few hours a week (some even offer art classes, gymnastics classes etc.) I am actually planning to do so myself for my daughter who doesn't want anyone other than me and my husband to pick her up.

Regarding talking, each kid is different. Try talking to him all the time and ask him questions like \";what is it? what does it say?\";. Try to read as many books as possible. Initially he will be reluctant but soon he will get intersted in it and try to say things to you. By the end of the day, you will get tired of talking but it is worth it. If he is just saying 'ah' for 'apple', still encourage him by saying 'that's right. It is APPLE'
