Do you think your kids spend too much time playing computer games when they should be outside playing with other kids? Do you feel that computer games are an ideal way for kids to relieve stress? Do you think games have a positive effect in child development? What are the negatives aspects you have experienced?

I think computer games really help develop analytical skills. Games such as railroad tycoon help build mathematical and analytical skills that can have real world uses. Also kids who play first person games are able to analyze any scene faster, being able to pick out minute details that may otherwise have gone unnoticed.

Hmmm me thinks that computer games at least build fast reflexes. After all games are all about eye co-ordination and button mashing. The analytical skills and all are ok but not true for all games. True simulation games definitely have that.

I think todays computer games kill a kids imagination. He no longer has to make believe while playing with his toys. Todays computer game worlds are so realistic kids dont have to flex their creative muscles.

I don´ t think games make people lazy. You can´ t blame that on computer games. Yes they are a form of entertainment, as according to your argument we should ban books and tv as well both make you just as lazy. In fact in those cases there are no hand movements nothing!!!

Computer games make us lazy. The kids will sit in their chairs all day and merely watch those crazy characters dacing and running. they will do no running themselves. what you have is a mass of zombie-eyed fat kids whose physical development is retarded. Aren´ t our urban lives sedentary enough? We need to instill more activity. These games aren´ t letting us get anywhere near that goal.

I think games are getting to be too violent and too realistic. These next generation consoles such as the Xbox 360 will make the gore more realistic and probably more believable. Too many hours on these games and we will have some really insensitive trigger happy juveniles out there. Games like that should be only for adults
