Problems in School:confidence in school

My daughter is 8 and in the third grade. She is just your average kid. She has never liked going to school and it is not a place of confidence for her. She gets upset when the smart kids get praise from her teachers and she struggles to understand. She is not stupid, she is just an average kid who has a little difficulty taking tests. She is sweet and caring, never throws a fit, and a champion swimmer. School is just not a confident place for her. I tell her everyone has their talents and she is great the way she is. She just really wants to be smart and get praise for it but I just know that it won't happen no matter how hard she tries. Any suggestions on how to build her school confidence?

The school in Indian context is a good 12year process for anything/everything to invoke in a child. All of us excluding the child have to have a lot of patience and not rush the child. We are expecting too much too soon. Can't WE ALL (dear parents) s...l..o....w down a little. Think about it.
