Hi tina,
I have seen Gerber jars available in some cities. I know for sure it is available in Chennai. What city are you visiting?
If you are taking other brand jars, then pack them individually in ziploc bags (that way, if it breaks it will hopefully stay in the bag itself) and pack it with lot of dresses so that they don't move around and also give a lot of cushion effect. I was los thinking of wrapping them in bubble wraps but it is just too time consuming and thought it was too much work. Just make sure you pack a lot of dresses around the jars. Don't pack all in one suitcase. My daughter didn't take any vegetable in India except potatoes. Too bad I didn't take enough jar food. I had some help from my friend who was visiting at that same time and she brought me some jars. (I was giving her organic jar food though.)
