Hi Nikki,

I know how u feel. Pls try and avoid steroids etc. I have the same problem. Now I don't use soap to have my bath but use an anti-itch soap free soln. available from a pharmacy. Mine is called pinetarsol. Also I leave it on for 2-3 minutes and then rinse with lukewarm water, though it is still very cold in Melbourne. After my bath I use Calamine lotion as advised by my doctor. It is helping me a lot. Infact I had some Lactocalamine bottles lying with me which I am using. Wear ur clothes 4-5 minutes after rubbing this lotion. Maybe it will work for u as well.

When itching gets too much I sponge and clean my tummy again with the same soap free soln. and apply calamine lotion . You can try this again before sleeping..

take care and all the best.
Ritu

Hi Nikki,

I am so sorry to hear about your itching and am hoping it gets better soon. Here is a home recipe, the vibudhi we use after praying has anti-itch properties. Do try it, and I hope it helps give you some relief.

Take Care

Hi Nikki,

I am in the same boat i too can't sleep becoz of itching and going to restroom frequently, but these days before going to sleep i take a shower and then apply some lotion all over my body which helps to some extent only then back to normal,i spoke to my dr also they said it will only go after the delivery so am just waiting for the delivery only now.Well right now also am scatching my leg and arm so badly, but i guess now it has become a part of my daily routine.
So pls bear for some more time(weeks) for the sake of ur baby.
Pls take care for some more weeks,
Uma

Hi Nikki,

I feel very very sorry for you. After going through your message, I almost got into tears. Because with regular discomforts itself 9th month is difficult. On top of these, with itching you must be having tough time. I don't have any idea to reduce the itching, but for temporary relief you can stand infront of a table fan(high speed).
But try not to scratch. If you scratch, you feel like scratching more and more.
Also don't take bath with hot water. I wish I can be more helpful in this case.
Once you reach 37th week, baby will be called as term baby. After that go for regular walking. I heard that we can go to labour early if we walk a lot. 4 more weeks to go maximum. So, please try to manage.

Take care,
Anu.
