Hi,

My son is 11 months old.when he was 2 months old he had eczema but when i visited india everything went off on its own.we came back to US when he was 4 months old and since then there was no problem with his skin.
Now we started using heater and I see red dots(ina circle shape) in some places in one of his legs.it is not itchy but looks red after bath.I apply Aveeno lotion after his bath and also 3 times a day.
I am sure he is not allergic to any food as he has been taking Similac(soy formula) for months now and has been on the same diet as before.
so is it the dry skin(bcoz it is not itchy) or is it Eczema?

if any one has come across this situation please let me know.

1 week after I reached India I took him to Ped there and he told me that he has may be 1%of eczema but mainly it's dry skin.My son was not scratching though.
but still he recommended me to use Oilatum Soap which is really a good soap(little bit expensive) and also I used to use Dewderm lotion.
these and also climate worked like a charm.

Can you please tell as to how long did it take for your baby to get rid of ezcema in India? My baby also has ezcema and iam in India for the last 1 week. I could see some improvement like the ezcema spots does not get flared up, but sometimes he does scratch those spots. I would like to know how long will it exactly take for them to come out of the itch-scratch cycle?

Also can you please tell me which water did you use for your baby while you were in India? Iam planning to use Aqua Fina and boil it well before giving it to my baby. Please advice.

My 22 month old has the exact condition which you describe. I am not sure what this winter will do. But here are some suggestions based on the ped's advice
- Keep the heater as low as tolerable. We have managed to keep it at 68. It was a major adjustment for us! Bundle him very well in warm clothing.
- Elidel cream is non-steroidal and has helped prevent the redness from progressing into something worse. It is a prescription cream - you might have seen the TV ads.

Also, I use Aveeno in combination with Elidel.

i m stayng in south korea came here when my daughter was 1.5 mnths.in india after 15 days of birth i found ssome red dots on her body started from face ,some people said KHASRA but thank god that was not that as khasra comes with high fever and itching.thn here S.K my PED said change soap use dove and dont apply talcum powder use any moisturiser but from last 2 days i again found that red dots again as winters are coming we ahve started heating and i put sweater to her also .
dont understand wat to do

That cld be eczema too...BUT DO CHECK WITH UR PED.They say Eczema dont go so fast.My daughter had same but after India , she got again in the US. I apply Aquphor/Eucerin which is thicker than Aveeno. Stop any lotions immd though all baby products. Just apply vaseline till talk to ur doc.
I know its pain ...my daughter got thruout her body n was applying every 3 hrs.Now am applying 3 times a day.
