Dear All,

My baby boy is 5 mths old & normally is a very cheerful .. always smiling child who doesnt cry much.

For past 1 week, my husband & I (staying alone in kenya) have noticed that he has becum very quiet, he doesnt play or laugh aloud anymore, his always ready smiles are also absent.
He had a mild cold & cough & we are giving him medicines for that but in the past even if he had a cough he was still cheerful .

I am very worried abt his sudden behaviour chnage. His solid eating too has undergone change. he is no longer eating his 3 solid meals a day happily & sometimes cries at evenings, exerts pressure on his feet & tries to move.

PLS ADVISE as to what can the matter be with him & what i can do to help. The qlty of peds here is terrible so no point of visiting docs.

Any one experienced something like this?

Nidhi farz replied. hello Nidhi, your reaction towards your child present condition is quite normal that suddenly your smiling baby became quite , see as u told that your child condition for cold and cough like that so find out that has he difficulty in breathing or any thing at home which is new do u have carpets at home or any toys with fur this all condition makes the cough worst , as the child grow he shows many changes in mood and this is quite normal too , your attachment towards your child make him or give him secure environment are u working or house wife ???? i willwait for your reply for mild cough honey is best , and also ajwaaen seeds u boil those in water and give steam of that water very soothing for baby but take care from hot water hope to talk to u later , oh yeah i forgot to tell u my baby is going to finish three month and i know few thing cos i was working as nurse with one paediatition in clinic . rachel replied. did your child get vaccinated recently it can be a side effect of vaccination,
thimerosol a preservative in vaccination can be harmful for some children
