Swati:

Hope you have read my post in my previous thread. As I have written, my friend informed me that her cousin who was supposed to bring the Leptaden could not find it after he returned from India. She said that he has promised to search again, but I have no hope in it.

What I would like to know is: Is it possible for you to find out if there is a store in Bangalore which would ship the product to me directly if I send them the payment? I tried surfing the web for it, but no luck. I may be playing a failing game, but I want to make this one last attempt before giving up on it.

Thank you,

Jaya

Jaya, I have your Leptaden with me and will you imagine there are a whole lot of rules for a medicine to get to the U.S.

Here are some of them:

The person has to be a temporary resident in the U.S.

The person has to prove that the medicine is not available in the U.S.

There has to be a doctor's prescription
to that extent!

There has to be a breakup of what the tablet contents are if they are not already mentioned on the cover of the bottle then a regd. chemist has to certify the same!

This fulfilled then Fedex can try and talk to us! Hey sounds complicated no! Anyway I got the tablets now and you find someone who can get these to you ! If someone is travelling to the US mebbe that would be the only way out! This time find someone tho' who doesn't lose your medicine in his/her baggage tho'! You tell me how you want to do this? Any family coming to the US from here then I can send this to them in India and they can carry it for you! Any friends who can carry it for you ?

Try and figure out a way. I have been busy and not accessing this site too often but will keep in touch more regularly, till we get the medicine to you.

Cheers for now....Don't lose heart!

First of all, let me thank you for taking the time and effort to get it for me. I did not know that sending a medicine from India to the US was so complicated. Anyway, can you give me your e-mail address? I have family visiting me from Kerala next month. Once I get your e-mail address, I'll e-mail you their address and other details.

Thank you once again,

Jaya

Sorry I read your mail just now! I've been irregular with the net bit for some time! Let me see how it can be done. In the worst case I'll just buy you a bottle and mail it to you. If there is something like you having to pay for the mailing charges then you do that if it will make you comfy! But for all this I need your mailing address...

Bye for now and don't worry I'll try and have something arranged!

Thank you once again,

Jaya

Hi Jaya,
I don't know anything about Leptaden but I am replying because I want to tell you that you are not alone. I understand the turmoil you are going thru. I had a baby girl last Oct. It was a vaginal/forceps delivery and she was placed in the Neonatal unit for a few days too. Like you I visited her in the unit and tried to breastfeed but my breast were too swollen for her to even latch on. I used warm/cold compresses and whatever else the lactation cons told me to do but nothing worked. I started pumping from day 2 and continued for 4 weeks but I used to get maybe 5 ml with each pumping session and that too only from one breast. I drove myself and my husband crazy b'cos I thought I was not being a good mother. I used to feel inadequate whenever I looked at my baby and could not even enjoy her. I finally had to stop b'cos not only was I not getting enough milk but I was spending more time pumping than spending time with my baby. I don't regret b'cos I see my baby growing fine. I have 2 sisters, one of them was able to breastfeed both her children for 6-8 mths, the other was not at all able to breastfeed like me.
There are actually quite a few women who have the insufficient breast milk problem. Again, I am not discouraging you from trying ayurvedic remedies but all I am saying that if nothing works, give your baby the nutrition he requires and enjoy your baby.
Good Luck,
Aparna

Hi Aparna:

Thank you very much for your message. You are right - I too have felt many times that I am an incomplete mother who is unable to breastfeed her baby. My baby is growing nicely. As I said, I would like to make this one last attempt before giving up.

Thank you,

Jaya
