I,m living in US with my hubby.I'm a stay home mom of a three months old son. MIL came for the delivery and made it horrible.Its a normal delivery but some later complications(still in pain)b'cos of lack of rest.She is extremely manipulating and cunning.My hubby just listens to her and believes her.She has convinced him that I'm an evil person.She doesn't do anything the whole day but watching TV and in front of my hubby she acts like she is the best MIL.She taunts me all the time for not bringing the things she desired from my parents.We are married for 5 years and since we got married she haven't let my hubby stay with my parents for even day or two and she complains about them all the time.I was tolerating everything.My husband is totally in his mom's influence.When I say I'm in pain, she brings up her pain and starts acting.Doc's told me to take rest but is not possible and I'm getting severe mental tension too.My hubby is short tempered and she takes his favor all the time and make it worse.My husband wanted to help me with the baby but she convinced him that working out(earning) is enough help.She is leaving (hopefully) for India in 10 days,but I don't know how to change my husband's views about me and fade her influence on him. shanshan replied. I didn't understand why you brought your MIL to help you, instead of your parents.no one can takecare of you like your mother.Same thing happend with me.It's a common problem with every indian DIL.About husband, just act normaly, try to plese him, make him yours.if she is cunning & smart ecough to bring gap between you & your hubby, you should be smart enough to not let take love from your hubby to you.act smart, don't talk nagative about his mother with him.no guys will like to hear that, about thier mother.
