Due Date Club December 2005:Question to Archie - Regarding Cervical Mucous
2005-11-29
Name: Raji

Hi Archie,
I complete my 36 weeks today. For the past 2 days, I have been noticing an increase in the cervical mucous. Whenever I pass urine, I can see a small amount of CM. Though the quantity is small, it is more than before.
Does this mean I am effacing or dilating ?

My panties are dry, but I see CM only when I pass urine.

Also one of my friends told me that since my movements are same as before, the head is not yet engaged. Is that true.

Please advise..

Regards,

Raji

Raji,
it's that your cervix is in process of loosing mucus plug, may take days to week to get there. Also loosing cervix does not assure labor, it may be that from when one completely lost mucus plug the labor may appear in a day to two weeks.

your movement is not a way to judge lightening.

Archie

Hi! Raji
I am in my 38th week and the same thing has been happening with me for the past week too..I told my doc and she told me that that it is just a sign of my cervix getting ready for birth...it doesn't tell how close we r yet to delivery.
I too pass mucus with a brownish tinge when i pass urine in the morning...just once a day.
Hope that helps!
Bhavna

Very good doctor
Hi,

I delived a baby boy in March 2009. I consulted Dr.Chitra Ramamurthy during my pregnancy cycle. She' s one of the best doctors in Bangalore. Not many people know about her. She handled the entire process in a very professional manner. I used to visit her clinic in Jayanagar 3rd block. She is very caring and affable. She says what to do and what not to do. ... - Sandhya Rao [View Message]

So long as your baby is feeding, that' s all that really matters. These days, formulas are packed with everything the baby needs, and although it is never as good as breast milk, it' s perfectly fine. It sounds like maybe what you are missing is the bonding that breast feeding provides? My first child had both breast and bottle milk for the first 6 months, when I had a mis... - Jhumri [View Message]
