Hi everyone,

I am a new mom and i have serious concerns abt vaccination.Here in US there are too many vaccinations that are recommended for the baby to take.But when i did some research it is shocking that vaccination leads to \" AUTISM\" .Mercury based vaccines are the major thing that cause autism to the child. I am confused whether to take all those vaccinations or not.
My Question is : Do we need to take all of them ?or
Can we say NO to vaccinations?
or
Do we need to choose among them? If so what are all safe to take.

I need your inputs.

I am not sure if brain fever is also called meningitis as I have never heard brain fever before but this is wot is written for meningitis
Meningitis is infection of the linning of the brain.Meningitis can be caused by several types of bacteria or viruses.Infection with meningococcal bacteria can also cause diseases such as meningitis, septicaemia, pericarditis(inflammation of the linning of the sac that contain the heart) and arthritis.And vaccine is called MenC.It is also known as meningococcal group C.
I have no idea of cost in India or if these vaccine are compulsary there as here in UK all babies get these n are must plus they all r free.

first one i will explaine is Hib' s one
Hib and pneumococcal are different
i am writting as it is wrtten in the book given to us by our GP.
Hib is an infection caused by Haemophilus influenzae type b bacteria. it can lead to a number of illnesses such as blood poisoning(septicaemia), pneumonia and meningitis.The Hib vaccine only protect baby against the type of meningitis caused by the Haemophilus influenzae type b bacteria - it does not protect against any other type of meningitis
Pneumococcal infection is one of the commonest causes of meningitis but it also cause ear infections, pneumonia.
PCV provides some protection against one of the commonest cause of meningitis and also against other conditions such as severe ear infection and pneumonia caused by pneumococcal infection.this wot i understand cut it short then these 2 vaccine protect child against nearly same infections but these infections are caused by different bacteria or viruses.

vaccinaitons r safe as far as i know as my son recently gone had preety much all of them n only 2 r left one he is getting on 8/2/08 that is Hib/MenC ( Haemophilus influenza type b (Hib) and meningococcal C (Men C) )and 2nd he is getting on 8th March that is MMR and PCV which protect against Measles,mumps and rubella and pneumococcal infection and before these n in last 1 year he had BCG (at 12 days old) as he belong to Indians then at 2 month old he had DTa/IPV/Hib and Pnenmococcal conjugate caccine (PCV) at 3 months old he had DTaP/IPV/hib and MenC and same as 3 month he had at 4 months, and on 1 Feb he had Hepatitis A as we r going to india.
MMR and autism are linked together but as far as i know those kids who have autism start showing it at around that time, the time MMR is given so some parents link them but there is no scientific evidence for such a link.So at last there is no shortage to vaccinations and they do protect.

Hi Mandeep/ Every one,
Can you tell me whether meningitis is only called as " Brain fever" ? if so, which of the three vaccines is for brain fever - pneumococcal/meningococcal/Hib vaccine ?
Also tell me if pneumococcal should be given inspite of Hib ?
Is pneumococcal really so costly- Rs.4000/- per shot ?
can we blindly take Doctor´ s suggestions or do they have business motive in suggesting optional vaccines?
