hi friends,
i wanted to know from my friends in US.. how is the life there with kids? i have 4 yr old daughter. my huddy is now in US n wud be ther for yr atleast. my daughter is making my life miserable as she is missing her father very much. we r thinking wheather to go and join him or stay here in india..

following r the main concerns
1 cost of education
2 social life .. my daughter loves to be in crowd.. we had lived in shanghai but she bored so much that we returned back to india
can anybody let me know abt the family life there ..
Swathy replied. I am here with my 3 yrs old son. Just started preschooling for 3 hrs. In school, he is playing and some group activities, coloring , tracing kind of activities.
As sh eis 4 yrs , she must be learning more things now at school. If she comes her learning curve may go down, If u r not teaching at home.on my own exp , I am telling Social life is not so good thou I have many friends. PPL here allll(90%) r very selfish. if they need anything come, use and at last throw u out. Very few ppl r good. ( they wont care u )

By the way r u working there?

If ur hubby comes here for 1 year then u can think abt visiting US for 3 months , roam around few places and go back. Think abt this .

If he is going to stay here for more than 1 yr , then u can think abt staying here along with him.

It is really good that u r checking before u go the US about how is the environment for ur daughter.

I stay in the US (connecticut) with my 2 1/2 year son and hubby. well first thing is

- It all depends on the place ur hubby is staying if he is in a place like new york, new jersy, california... then life is OK..... there quite a crowd of people and maybe if u look for an apartment which has more number of Indians then life is good.,...

- But one thing.... ur daughter is 4 and she must be going to school in India... but the schools in the US for kids are only if they r 5 years old... I feel ur daughter's education will take a back seat... there r play homes until 5 years but their style of teaching is different... they go more on play time... teaching to bake... good manners.... only form 6 years they start the proper teaching... pla do check with more parents on this coz each state have their own method...

- well US will definitely not be like India.... there r times when life gets very lonely.... like u mentioned it will be like life in shanghai I guess...

- my son also loves to be among people... in US it is not a daily lifestyle to be among people... it gets very lonely.... we really miss our relatives, friends... parents and grand parents.... I am planning to come back to India by May' 07... to settle and put my son in playhome ....
