Dear Friends,
My son is 2.2. years and he goes in a preschool + Day care in Bangalore since past 1 month. I drop him to school in the morning and pick him up at around 5. The problem with him is that he cries too much in the morning. And his teacher tells me that he keeps crying till half an hour thereafter. The staff is very good and lovable. Im really worried what to do, can anybody pl. give me any solution so that i can help him avoid all this.Im really worried about him.
Sincerely looking for an advise.

Actually, I send my son in School van to his preschool & daycare. He use dto leave with smiles and kisses.
Last month due to school vacation, conveyance was suspended, but I had to drop him in day care! So, I went to drop him & he was screaming with eyes-filled!
Kids feel happy when they leave you & they are on move. But when you leave them back & move, they feel they are missing something.
If your kid's school provides conveyance, you can try that!
I saw your posting only today! If any of s v's thoughts have worked out, Great! All the best!

Hi Deepti

I do understand ur situation, but the main thing for ur son to cry is that he is not ready for daycare and to be seperated from U... I do understand that u work and its difficult....

Separation anxiety is common between parent and child...

My suggestion :

-Maybe for some days U can either take ur son early or stay a lil more time with him in the daycare before u go to work....

-Try and spend more time with ur son...than the time u spend with him now...

- Talk to ur son about the day and preschool... tell him how much of fun it is... and he can make friends etc....

- try to take things that he is most attached to when u take him to the daycare.. that will bring security in a certain way...

- Maybe for some days u can just be with him for a few minutes ---- ask the caretaker to start playing his favourate game and when he is fully engrossed in playing the game with the caretaker u can slowly leave him without his knowlegde... this is a very tricky idea.. it works for some babies... so make sure ur baby is ready for this... U can try it at home before u try anything in the day care...

- some days u can ask ur hubby to take him to the day care.... u cand ur hubby can take turns.....

- since he is still really small to remember all this... he will grow out of it soon... and after some days he will be fine.....

- Maybe if the caretaker is really good and u know he ron a personal basis u can ask her to come home in the weekends... or in the evening on weekdays and play with him and with u for sometime. He will get comfortable to see the both of u often and separation will not be a problem then. ( maybe u can pay her separately)

I hope my suggestions help U

All the best.

RE:What Toddlers Should Be Learning?
Toddlers are at a crucial stage of learning, where foundational skills for life are being developed. At Skillmatics, we believe toddlers should be learning cognitive abilities like problem-solving, memory building, and recognition of shapes, colors, and patterns. Language development, motor skills, and social-emotional growth are equally important during these years.
