Hi everybody,
my wife is pregnant and she is due on Oct 2011. recently we have heard about Stem cell banking from our Gynaec in Delhi. we have gone through the presentation of some major players in this industry like Reliance, Cryo Bank, Cord Life and Lifecell. But believe me, only Lifecell has shown all the documents and proof of what they cliam. certificates, accreditions, Therapy expenses, Disaster relief programm, legal client agreement and lots more. i took more than 2 weeks of time to decide on these banks, finally me and my wife choosen lifecell. i recommend lifecell International because they are the Pioneer and having more than 40000 samples stored.

yes Life cell is the best, when ourbabygirl was due in Feb 2011 we shortlisted Lifecell after meeting Cyrobanks, Relicord, Babycord etc. Cyrobanks are thugs they promise you the moon and also there is no indian hand in this company so we can´ t rely on them at all. Relicord is good but the offers have so much marketing gimmicks. Other players lacks either the technical infrastructure or the commercial backing to remain a long term player. Hence Chennai based Lifecell scores above all of them. Their before and after sales service is excellent. Their EMI´ s started only after my baby was one month old. They really understand the customer´ s need and act accordingly.

Hi Niki,

I read about it and there are + and - points to it. At first, if your baby developed diseases such as bone narrow disease then the blood cells can be used to save the life of the baby since it is very hard to get a blood match with the possible donars. However there is very little chance that your baby might develop such disease (one in thousands or millions) and saving that blood cells in blood bank will cost you a lot. Better check with the blood bank how much they will charge to save the umbilical cord. Since you will be storing that for entire life of the baby.

Best of luck for your last month ... I still have to wait for at least 2 and 1/2 month to see my little one ...

Sakhi

Hey Sakhi,
Thanks a lot for ur reply. Actually yesterday i called up insurance company & they said if there is any family history of cancer etc, they they will pay the charges for banking else it is ranging from $1500 to $5000 for banking the cells & every year some fee of $100. I am so confused as i know it may very rarely be used or may be not used by my baby but i guess even if other family member gets some problem it can be useful. though i am very ignorant of how useful it will be. Also how successfull this technology will be as it is quite new & not many people r going for it. But still keep me posted if u have any further information on this as i am thinking about doing it though it is expensive if it really has some benefits. Good luck to u too for the 2 more months. hope ur keeping well.... long time uve posted any message.

Good Gynae in Dwarka
Hi

I am new to dwarka and want to know if there is any good doctor having her clinic here (I expect them to be visiting some good hospotal).

I know some good doctors in gurgaon like Dr Chetna Jain (Columbia Asia), Dr Manvita (Max).

but can anybody suggest someone in dwarka as gurgaon would be far for emergency situations.
