Hi ! Need help please !

I am a first time mom and my baby has just turned 4 mths. I tried giving him formula but he rejected it again and and again. Then I tried changing the nipple but it was the same. I also tried giving him my milk in the bottle but that was also rejected. I think he has a problem in sucking the bottle's nipple. Could it be so ? Pls advise. If yes, how do I get him to take feed from the bottle ?

I tried giving him mashed banana, but in vain. Pls advise on what and how to start solids.

Thanks Lina replied. As for bottle you have waited too long to intorduce it. I did the same thing and my daughter never took bottle. I tried every nipple that's out there in the market. Try Dr.Brwon nipple, you might have some luck with it. It fits on playtext ventaire bottle if you don't want to by dr. brown bottle. Keep trying some do take bottle at four months. At some time between 4 and 6mos they learn to put other things in the mouth other than breast. Also, baby has to learn how to suck from the bottle as it's different then breast. I gave sippy cup to my daughter at 5mos and slowly she has learned to drink from it. At first the flow was too fast but as she got older she is used to it. She will be 8mos next week.

For solids try baby cereal first then give fruits. Try for 2-3days and If baby pushes out cereal then try it again after 1 week. Make sure fruits are pureed. You can mix with breast milk or formula to make it like soup.
