Due Date Club November 2003:9th Month

Name: Simmi Hi All. Irrespective of 9/10 mth confusion, most websites I visit, the last 4 weeks are counted as 9 mths. Anyhow, the fact is we'll be parents at the end of the period. So here are some pointers, we do know but good for our hubbies to know too.

NEW PARENT POINTERS When you're feeling overwhelmed, try to:

Embrace a \";team\"; mentality. Share middle-of-the-night duty with your partner. Enlist friends to prepare meals (ask if they don't offer).

Stay social. Contact with others is important for your mental health. Join a new parents' support group - being surrounded by others going through exactly the same thing can prove invaluable.

Be patient. It took nine months to become a family, so allow at least that long to adjust to your new role as a parent!

Month calculation is too confusing

Thanks for sharing the info. I am sure it would take more than nine months to get adjusted and become responsible parents.

Hey Simmi, good tips..I hope all of us do keep in touch and provide each other with all support we are going to need... :) and yes, patient is something we will surely need to be..

Hemani, today you will complete 36 weeks and will begin your 9th month...but like Arshiya said, it could also mean that you have completed 9 months and can be considered as the beginning of your 10th lunar month....
It sure is confusing - so to makes things easier, we can say that we are in our last and final 9th month.. :)

Hemani, according to my calculations you will complete your 9th month on Nov 7th and so will enter your 10th month...
but some of the sites I visited calculate it according to the lunar month.. check this site out - http://pregnancytoday*com/resource/themonths*htm

i am still slightly confused abt the month concept- my last period was 7th feb and the due date given by the doc i s 14th nov-so when does or did my ninth month start?
anyways u r right - its the hoem run period now

It works like this

Hi Himani,
Your DOc gave you right due date.Its always 9months and 9days. So your 9th month will complete on 7th nov and then add 9days...that wud be your due date.

Hope this will reduce your conf.
