I had high blood pressure plus borderline diabetes during third trimester of pregnancy and as i was on multiple anti-hypertensive drugs, doctor decided to terminate my pregnanacy at the end of 37 weeks (full-term) I was going for daily NST to see the feasibility of an induxed labour but the NST reports was flat and the cardiac activity was non-reactive, doctor decided to do an emergency c-section. we were not even mentally prepared for the baby's arrival but all this happened within a matter of 2-3 hours on 8th october morning.

I was over-anxious and totally zapped by the whole thing before i was taken to the OT. I was given general anasthesia. The preparation phase for c-section is pretty painful folks, especially the injection in the spine.

Baby weighed 3 Kgs at birth. She was born at the end of 36 weeks and 5 days - hence baby was 2 days less of full-term. She is doing fine.

I am recovering well. I was put on saline for about 20 hours. Right after they stopped the fluid, they asked me to start walking. i tried and it worked fine though painful at the stitches. I have already had the initial dressing done whereby the doctor removed the end strings of the stitches. the stitches are dissolvable and till date i haven't had any pains in the stitches. Only the drying stitches causes slight uncomfort. My antibiotics and all medicines have stopped, I am put back on calcium and iron supllements routine again - with double the calcium now to aid lactation.

and u r in America ? and i heard that in America After c section they take stich by the staple so that is right? and what in your case.can u tell. if u hv a littel bit time from your fairy

hi simmi
thanks and i am recovering fine. today doc. told me it has healed, even i found it difficult to make out that the c-section had been done in the lower abdomen!!

My EDD was NOV. 1st but due to PIH and borderline GDM issues, my pregnancy was decided to be terminated at the end of 37th week(read my message posted earlier) - my baby was born 2 days before the completion of 37 weeks.

not yet done with the naming, just kept a petname Rimi...

i am trying to upload some photos.. will send the link.
