seema replied. hetal you can give wheat prods from 10 month onwards. start with suji sheera.then slowly go for harder produces of wheat.after a month, it is okay to start with whole grain pastas.check for the reactions, if any.
hey, liked your tips.i did the same for my naughty brat when he was getting addicted to bottles at night. Night bottles should be stopped when not needed or else they have tooth decay or gum infections.or may even be vunerable to ear infectionsi.e. most common in bottled babies.
slowly this will also help baby to stop bottle and promote spoon feeding or weaning to cup. baby has no other choice but to either drink from spoon/cup or stop asking for bottle at night.for babies upto 9 months, their actual night hours is 5 hours only.
i stopped bottle for arjun like that only and started feeding him bm with spoon now.
you have any toddler recipe.do post.
take care, love to nirja.
abc replied. hey hetal, thanx, your tips look practical.will try them.just wanted to ask wat if she still continues asking for bm or directly feeds from me at night.shall i give her.will it cause overfilling for her.
about wheat foods in US, drs say that give wheat after 12 months but my mil just told me to start giving 1 piece of thin well cooked roti in any cooked daal let it soak in that and start that, after she completes 8months..and continue that for a month, until her apetite is good enough to digest. you can gradually increase the size of the roti, every 1 week ! slower the better,as we are giving them all the cereals. its enough for them.after 9 months, you can give her whole grain pastas, spegettis and such things.hey you can give her suji sheera or ragi sheera( halwa ) now, 1 spoon a day in meals will b good for health, with very lil cardamom, and ghee and best is put some banana in it, rather than artificial sugar.
i give it to my dd,she loves that.
love to nirja,
Hetal replied. no pepper for ne meals, until baby is 12 months..dry herbs i mentioned were oregano and parsley,,,when i said use them, you dont have to use them like we use in our dishes, just couple of flakes ! a flake is dried leaf of parlsey or oregano..if you find them fresh, just 1-2or 3 leaves is more than enough for a fist size tummy of lil one!
also our couple of corainder leaves are great, if you think parsley tastes stronger for you or your lil one !
about texture, i give her pureed which i feed her myself,,, but with that i give her own plate to play with, in which i put one smoothly boiled baby carrot,a tiny piece of potato(boiled in cooker, with hing, and lil salt ), and one small rice cracker (homemade)....u'l get them on google :)
now that our babies are 7 months old, this is the right time to teach them how to eat...therefore, with the finely grind stuffs, give them vegies to play with and let them put in their mouth,,by this way they will learn how to bite, chew,,if they get stucked up filling too much in their mouth,,, help them, by chewing the similar piece of vegie in your mouth,,,before them, or if you think she bited big piece, remove the excess and let some b in her mouth.. instead of putting your hands in their mouth and removing it or being panicky !!!!! 6-9/10 months babies are like monkeys,,,they will mimick all you do and all they like in you,,so teach them all you can ! make them eat, when you eat your meals and all will go in their mouth
after 9/10 months, their lil brains will b at work and they will not look at you...
also, i dont give gerber, except the pear and peach,as i cant find them fresh all the time, and frankly saying, i dont know how to buy them :))
so i use gerber ones,,rest all i use fresh and do at home....
neways,,,ne one can tell me if i can start giving pastas, suji or raagi or ne other flour other than rice/barley/millet/oatmeal !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Breast pumps
I am using a medela pump to feed my baby when I am out. The medela breast pumps are really a good choice for the working moms. We can pump the milk regularly and can store it and use whenever needed.... - dalewhither [View Message]
evenflo elan breast pump
Buy this pump! It’s made my life so much easier. I always got sore with my old Medela Advanced, but that never happens with the Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump. What really makes a difference is its ease of use. It’s really easy to switch between pumping phases and take apart to clean. Strongly recommend it for all mothers that pump daily.... - stellatylor [View Message]

try this
As we discussed earlier in this forum I used magnetic alphabets , through which he has learnt alphabets within a week. And number within 4 days.
It is as like take the letter and stick to it where ever he goes more and ask him to search a particular letter. this worked very well for me.
