I am surprised that you have not spoke to the ped about this problem...firstly if you feed her she will definately eat...if you are giving less to her then i suppse you should give her milk rather then water at night . you can give her fruit juice but she should have tried alll fruit purees first.
The reason whyu she doesnt wake up after having a good feed is because she is content...this is plain to see!!!!!
and she is not lazy she is a normal 7 month baby every baby at this stage only roll and crawl they are not expected to run a marathon..
dont wake her up if she is sleeping during the day...obv that would irritate anyone when sleeping and woken up.
you need to increase her food intake...you should have started atleast cereal at 4 months and then pureed at veg this way this would have been a slow and easier transition.
you need to look on the internet atleast read ot consult dr when concerned about babys milestone.
How do you expect her to grow if you dont feed her.

nupur replied. what hetal said is true. my little guy keeps doing all funny things at his meal times. babies do that and they are born to be clowns,i mean, moody at everything until 1 year when you can start teaching them all good manners and good well being.and it is said that if they are not funny or clumsy, they are not kids. let the babies enjoy this time of learning, they will come to you when they will be hungry. in india, nobody counts the calories or the quantities like you all do there in US. i dont even know that what is my baby height or weight every month, until i go to my dr.but i see him crawling & calling everyone ma ma and we can feel his weight & see his grace.our elders say he is fine so we are not worried at all.
i was surprised and appreciated the things you all keep a track of. i will do that from now on too.
we often take it for granted like priya said babies eat if you give them.
it is not always that way.they eat if they want to or if they really interested in eating or may be ready for it or sometimes its the taste that make them get interested into.my little guy never wants to eat cereal. i thought it will make my life in metro so easy but it did not work.i forced him he became miserable to handle.then my mil one day cooked rice and started all our indian food, he gulps all the way.
also, because i bf i know its not needed to start solids until 6 months.
i started my baby solids at 6th month.he too took time in getting into routines but now he is fine.
try changing the flavour like hetal said and like vidya said reduce dal in the foods you make.often toor dal is gassy and considered heavy, so try moong dal, moong water or masoor dal with its skin.

abc replied. dont b surprised,i did spoke to my dr. he said give her cereal i am giving her until she eats. he also mentioned that as far as i can supply bm to her, there is nothing good than that. and her weight, her height, her growth % and everything is meeting to the expectations of the dr at her monthly checkups, she has even got one little tooth as well with no problems at all and with no infections uptil date.she did not even have a fever while teething. touch wood. and i often check her milestone at babycenter(.)com and with my dr.she has always been upto date with it.alot of touch wood.
so my dr is not worried about the fact that she wakes up every now and then at night. he just told me to keep working on it and try to avoid her.he keeps mentioning that bm is light so she will ask for it.
and i did mentioned that after all she eats whole day, she hardly sleeps whole day..its only in the morning that she sleeps nicely, that she used to do even when i didnt start solids.her morning schedule has remained same from birth. but now she hardly sleeps after lunch, once a while she naps in noons, and i take advantage of it.i sleep with her.
at the same time, i never wake her up or rather i would say i never want to wake her up, i get the sleep thats y,,but she wakes up crying with alot of gas whenever overfed.
if i force her to eat, she either throws up or becomes colicky. i have seen her limit upto 2 tblsp and eveytime i try more of cereal or vegies, she gets fussy.
she has started to crawl futher abit, when i give her more and she cries while crawling or she doesnt like to sit or play independently. and so i put my hand on her stomach and she cries of pain.so i stopped giving her extra.if she does not do that, she keeps sleeping.i never wake her up, but she wakes up on her own, crying badly of pain.burps alot and becomes fussy, gassy.even though i burp her and make her sleep.
its after all this, i came here to put my delima forward overhere.and now my dh job has become all of sudden so demanding that i cant manage alone 24 hours, continuously.untilnow, once a while he used to help in settling her at night.
and because i breastfeed exclusively and i am able to meet her supply i didnot start solids at 4th month. my dr tells me as far as i can feed her bm, i should give her bm first than offer solids.which i used to do, in first 15 days, now i do not do that.even the websites here and the books over here mention that you should exclusively breastfeed your baby upto 6 months exclusively and as far as you can meet the supply there is no hurry to start solids.slower the better and lesser the infections.
like you said, i will try the juice 30mins after the lunch time. i have introduced her with apple and pear so will give her that.

Name: Hetal Subject: apetite
since you know your daughters apetite, you dont neeed to increase ne intake. you dont want to unnecessarily stuff your baby. as far as she is on bm or good expectations acc to dr, you dont need to worry.but make sure, that if like you say once a while she eats less or skips a meal time, try offering her mini meals instead of stuffing more in once ! like at breakfast, she didnt eat more than 1 spoon, offer another 1 spoon in next feeding ( where you gneraly give bm ), and then like wise. some babies like to eat all day.and still if that doesnt work, maintain the equation - 2tblspoon+2-3oz of vegies at every meal and + 30-35oz of bm. so that she can recoup the remaing 3 tablesppons of solids that she doesnt eat.
also, try every week offering her abit more food, coz her apetite will increase, you baby is growing pretty fast, and her body will surely demand for more food ! you just need to keep an eye on it.
rest all should b fine. if everything is good with her, maintain it ! dont stuff her to make her sleep at night.
how would you feel if someone forces you to eat more and more and make you sleep !! its not a human act.
as far as they are smiling, active, touching milestones on time or "doing great" as per dr,maintain that.
so,carry on, and keep trying.
congrats on all milestone. my lil one is just behind you :), got 2 lil teeth buds :) but with lots of diarea :(
hey, how much time it takes from tooth bud to actual teeth...just wondering.when will teeth come out :) or rather how long this diarea will go on,tired of changing diapers. applesauce made difference for a week, but after that all same. dr doesnt want to give nething. but keeps on saying, keep her hydrated..
take care.

Breast pumps
I am using a medela pump to feed my baby when I am out. The medela breast pumps are really a good choice for the working moms. We can pump the milk regularly and can store it and use whenever needed.... - dalewhither [View Message]
evenflo elan breast pump
Buy this pump! It’s made my life so much easier. I always got sore with my old Medela Advanced, but that never happens with the Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump. What really makes a difference is its ease of use. It’s really easy to switch between pumping phases and take apart to clean. Strongly recommend it for all mothers that pump daily.... - stellatylor [View Message]

try this
As we discussed earlier in this forum I used magnetic alphabets , through which he has learnt alphabets within a week. And number within 4 days.
It is as like take the letter and stick to it where ever he goes more and ask him to search a particular letter. this worked very well for me.
all the best... - Manju [View Message]
