I have a 7 month baby girl and she had dry skin when she was 4 months old. We tried moisturizer but didnt help. We then used coconut oil which worked and then we swithched to cetaphil lotion which was quite effective.The dry skin improved in a day. I have been using it for about a week now. But the only problem is that patch of dry skin has become whiter is that a sign of improving or is it becoming worse. Should i continue to use it or should i stop it?

Please advice.

in addntn to whatever you are doing, try dove soap with cucmber extract. before bath give her a light massage on the patch with pure vit e oil, n thn aftr 30mins bathe her..will help..
the sign of gettng is worst,,is it will start increasng by size or by the area of skin...
dont overdo,,see how comfortable your child is with anything i said or whoever says.

my son had dry skin and the white patches too the doctor said this white patch is because of the dry skin only it will go on its own and it did go away in a months time so dont worry

I had a similar query a few months ago concerning eczema occuring in toddlers. As far as I know, it can be due to a varrying number of factors and common foods that end up causing the condition in 1-2 year old toddlers.
