What do your kids eat. Mine is active as i had mentioned but eats absolutely nothing. She drinks milk 3 - 4 times 4 oz each feeding and thats it. I have only introduced the following foods.
Moong dhall
Thoor dhall
rice
oatmeal
pasta
chapati
bread

veggies: peas , carrot, sweet potato, chayote, potato

Fruits : pear, apple, water melon, mango

Finger food: cheerios, star shaped gerber food with sweet potato. used to eat fruit wagon wheels

She refuses anything and everyting and starts crying at the sight of food. No juice.

Every feeding is a battle. I spend an hour and if i get her to eat a coupl eof spoons that would be eat. Wt gain 1/2 pd in 3 months.

Hi, My dd is 1 yr old. She walks on her own. Says \";Amma, Appa, Thatha , papa, adha(dont know what that means), apple\"; Shows how plane flys with sound, how the mixie and vacuum work. Loves to watch baby things on TV. Dances to music , ads and serials. Shows her Cassette and asks us to play it. Identifies \";old mcdonald\"; song. Reads plenty of books. I have my dad with me until this week. So he spents an hour reading to her. Also identifies apple and says that it is one.Waves bye bye and plays peeka boo

I have 12 months old boy. He is trying to stand by himself & falls!! Walks with support & like to do all day. Besides He shows Fan & say \";fa\";, shows light, flowers, God. In the morning he claps his hands when I say -say Good morning to Bappa (God)& claps his hands whenever I say pray.He say OM after me. He likes music lot. & respond to music as per the rhythm. He Likes twinkle twinkle little star & waves his hand whenever he listens star. He said quak quak when we ask him , how the duck say. He also says BaBa Papa Mama & speaks all day don't know what. He likes crowd, & start crying if someone leaves our house.

Nice to read the development of babies . Thanks for starting the topic.

I have a nine month old daughter.

She is
-crawling really fast
-cruising/walking around the furniture holding onto them and pulling up by herself.
-climbing stairs (a lot)
-saying ma or mum mum and ya ya, trying to say ba ba, tha tha
-sings a tune of her own and repeats when I imitate her
-has got strager anxiety very badly
-fusses a lot for eating
-points at toys and explores using her index finger
-loves books, her favorite characters are Clifford, Elmo, anything RED
-turns pages in her books (has to be a board book)
-expects her favorite scenes in Baby Einstein video
-loves to play Peekaboo
-loves to play with her toys ALONE

I have a question for you all.

When did your kids start to wave bye bye, blow a kiss, clap hands, pray God etc.?

I have been trying to teach her the above things but she is not interested in them. She observes me well if I do.

There is a theory that if a kid is exposed to too much TV then they will not be interested in books etc. It is called ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder)
Try reducing the TV time to say 1/2 hour to 45 minutes a day and may be they will be more attentive to books.

I have the following books
- Happy Baby colors
- Cliford the big red dog Play time! (soft book and she loves to touch them)
- Baby finger book series
- My sparkle learning book
- other books for rhymes, songs, colors, shapes, letters, numbers etc.
Try soft books. They are the best if your child is chewing on them.

One suggestion would be to take your kids to barnes&noble or borders or any book store and spend some time there showing different chlidren books. Don't let them play with the books too much as they may ruin them and you might have to end up buying a lot. This way you can know what their likes and dislikes are and buy accordingly.

Share your thoughts.

I have a 13 months old son, he shows peek a boo, bye bye, Twinkle twinkle little star, he shows clock, TV, book etc. But he is hardly interested in seeing pictures in book. He just takes the book & bites it & throws it away. Its good if they see different pictures of animals, flowers. ANy ideas r welcome.
