Due Date Club December 2005:abdominal pain
2005-11-12
Name: nandini

Hi friends
it was sme week.
Been having lot of abdominal pain throughout the day.
bore it fr 3 days.
then thurs went to dr.
she did internal said alls fine but cervix is very soft and the baby has taken head down position so not to strain go fr bed rest or it will result in early labour.I am still 33 weeks 3days.
and since my 2nd one is ceasarean and i ve opted fr VBAC this time she wanted to check on my scar too.
so next day i went fr scan and the baby is absolutely fine has a huge nose accdg to my husband.and the scar is alright till now.
But the edd has cme nearer instead of 1st jan it is 19th dec.
but the cause of the abdominal pain is not clear.
she said bed rest and also my bowels were hard so duphalac every day night.
and brufen 400 3times a dayto relieve me of my pain.
well so sonal i am with u if the scan date has to be believed.
I am just waiting fr 36 weeks to cross.
as the pain is really bad.
Well if its 19th dec the best part i can celebrate my 2nd sons birthday nicely which is on 3rd jan.hopefully i wldve recovered by then.
i am very happy today.my parents are coming. It will be nice to see them.
u all tke cre thats all fr now.

hi nandini, bhavna, pallavi,

I was also due around 12th dec. Then my dates moved to 7th and 4th dec. Now my last US shows the date 25th Nov. Hardly any time left. Countdown has begun. My babys growth is fast and so doc doesnt want to wait for full term. He will wait till end of 37th week. Ive begun with my 36th week today. All the best to all of you. Take care

Hi Nandini,
I also have pain, and the baby is moved down. Even my D date looks to be preponed by 15-20 days. Earlier it was 12 dec now it looks like somewhere last week of Nov.
Lets see.

hi pallavi
how are u today?
r u on any pain killers?well the pain killers are not helping in any way.
though i ve been ving them since 2 days.
as in august when i was having sciatic nerve pain and not able to walk as the baby had moved its wt on the nerve that time also dr had prescribed pain killers but i didnt have and this time she said i have them and rest or she will put me in hospital fr a day or 2.
Personally i am happy as it is early and by that time its a full term baby.
U r in which week?
U tke cre.
Do tell me what u re doing to cope up with it.
Luv nandini

Hi! Nandini..
Glad toknow that ur scar is fine. Do they check that in ultrasound???..I have one on Nv. 15..i guess i will ask. I am seeing my doc every week now.I too am trying for VBAC(but not too hopeful deep within)
As for the pain..even I have pain in lower abdomen, and lower back and constipation...none of this happened with my first one! My doc said that since the baby has dropped down, it stretches teh ligaments and that causes pain. I am not taking any mediines..just rest..my husband has taken over everything...
Also my doc said that dropping down has nothing to do with early labor.I am starting 36 weeks today.
Do let me know how ur doc found out that the scar is fine.
Thanks!!

hi dear.
Yes they do check fr scar in the ultrasound. My ultracound was specifically done to check that as there was pain in the lower abdomen.( so dr was suspecting maybe its scar pain)
in aug too i had done it was 6 inches thick but my dr in india said i shd ve waited befre conceiving as less than 2 yrs is less to heal.( i thnk urs is 6 yrs old right?)
but the dr here in dubai is confident of a VBAC.they cld see just a thin line below the uterus .Currently it is fine lets see how it proceedsas the wt is all downwards.( my husband was lifting just my stomach up yesterday and teasing me saying u need a belt up there.)
Good ur husband has tken over.u tke cre.for constipation do try duphalac 15ml every night a friend has suggested soaking prunes in water fr 3 -4 hrs and then eating them as well having its water.I am going to try today.
U re correct dropping down has got nothing to do with early labour .in first timers it is 36 weeks and later but fr others it normally happens in the last week and smetime just befre labour.
I think in our cases it has happened early.
But in my case she did internal to check up about the pain and she said my cervix is soft (normally its hard)so if i strain then i could go fr early labour.
But i ve told my baby he she can cme only after 36 weeks.
I am going in a weeks time again to the dr.
U tke cre ur 36 week is starting soon and i am sure u will ve a VBAC.I will pray fr u.
just remain positive.
luv nandini

Very good doctor
Hi,

I delived a baby boy in March 2009. I consulted Dr.Chitra Ramamurthy during my pregnancy cycle. She' s one of the best doctors in Bangalore. Not many people know about her. She handled the entire process in a very professional manner. I used to visit her clinic in Jayanagar 3rd block. She is very caring and affable. She says what to do and what not to do. ... - Sandhya Rao [View Message]

So long as your baby is feeding, that' s all that really matters. These days, formulas are packed with everything the baby needs, and although it is never as good as breast milk, it' s perfectly fine. It sounds like maybe what you are missing is the bonding that breast feeding provides? My first child had both breast and bottle milk for the first 6 months, when I had a mis... - Jhumri [View Message]
