hello everyone
my son is 3 months old for past 3-4 weeks the area around his anus is red i apply a&d three to four times a day but its still the same, can anyone advise on that.

Try to Air dry at least 30 minutes every day (make him naked)after shower is the best time.

i am glad to hear that ur son is recovering and i will pray to god for his total recovery. actually when ever i hear the word chemo my heart sinks because i lost both my parents to cancer.

Dear SS,

When my first child had diaper rash, not ordinary one, but from diarrhea from antibiotics, I used A&D ointment and Balmex and everything, but it didn' t go away. I asked the pharmacist what else there was to use, and she said that most likely, the rash was due to a fungus from the medicine. She advised that I change my son often and after I wipe him with an unscented wipe, I should apply Lotrimin cream (antifungal). His rash went away by the next night.

Other times, if the rash is severe enough, which your baby' s sounds like it is, I use Neosporin after I wipe. I used this when my oldest was going through chemotherapy and would have diarrhea to prevent skin breakdown.

Other than that, try and use powder with cornstarch. I swear by this and I use it on all 3 of my kids. I use Huggies Natural Care wipes (unscented), Johnson and Johnson baby powder with cornstarch or any off-brand powder with cornstarch, and any diaper.

Dear SS,

My son has responded better than average to treatment that included chemotherapy and stem cell transplant, and thank God he is NED (no evidence of disease) free of cancer! Right now he is on his last form of treatment, Accutane, a pill and thank God, he´ s doing ok with that. Thank you for asking about him.
