Iam staying in New York and interested for my Baby's mundan. I don't know where to contact the person who cuts hair? Also how people manage here to do?

There is SSVT Temple in Pittsburgh, who perform Mundan ceremonies.

Check with your local temple too...

Mundan is a solemn religious rite of passage practised by most Hindus irrespective of caste. If Sonum wants to do that to her baby she is welcome to do that. (By now she would have done it and the baby grown much older. But that is beside the point.) If you do not believe in it, it is your opinion. But it is none of your business to say that it is a superstition and not to bother and all that. We Hindus do whatever we please and if there are wrongs in our practices there are umpteen number of devout yet progressive Hindus to correct us. We do not need a Christian like you to abuse our practices as superstition. If you really believe religious head shave is a superstition tell that to the innumerable Christians who tonsure their and their kids' heads in Velankanni in Tamil Nadu, India.
