Subject:  Dear Rama,

I think in your eagerness and responsibility to see your children do well in studies and behavior, you have in their opinion become a nag. months and years of nagging have made them sort of immune to your words and they are now rebeling against it. We mothers are sometimes so taken up with our responsibilities that we forget to enjoy our children. Remember your children are growing up and soon will leave home and all the memories left will be these arguements. Are the issues you argue about worth it. I think right now just concentrate on having a nice time with the children. If your husband can deal with the unpleasent issues, let him. Let your children think you are fun to be with, later after 3 months slowly ask for small requests, and then gradually go on to higher things. When you want them to do something, tell them in a matter of fact way, \";I want the homework done by this time\"; .If they want to want TV, tell them they have 30 minutes to watch TV and then they have to switch the TV off and start their homework. If they don't off the TV after 30 min, switch it off yourself. Give a time frame for their work, children do not like it if we demand immediate response. Hope my suggestions help but try variations if you think will work.
