my 5 month old is having severe cold/cough. she is hardly able to take in milk and she vomitted most of it. I went through quite some posts to find out some remedies. I think she is too young to be given haldi powder mixed in formula? has anyone tried this? Please help me..... Hetal replied. if you have started your child solids, thn it shouldnt be prob for her to accept turmeric. offer her warm water quite freq and it will help her soothe and thin out the mucus in the membranes. also will lower the cough intensity.
keep her sleep elevated so that the cough or mucus doesnt have a chance to enter lungs and severity can be avoided.
turmeric works great, ofer that in bm if possble. and make sure to give it a lil and check on her reflux or rashes if she is sensitive to heat.go thru the posts and try wat convinces you, after all you know your child better than anyone else over here.
offring sweet basil water also helps in both cold, cough. Deepti replied. Ya,I have tried haldi in milk with my 6 mnths old daughter n it worked.In one of the posts,I also read that applying camphor with mustard oil on chest of babies do well.It works like vicks.If u feel,u can try it.
Don' t worry,it will go.My daughter also recovered from cold in one mnth when she was 6 mnths old.Have patience n take care of her.
