As I told earlier that I live in Europe. To be specific , in Germany. I have tried getting these Selsun blue n Lubriderm but in vain. tommorrow I will try for any of the other products mentioned by you. But I am skeptical for that too. Hetal, this Head n sch is normal anti dandruff or in USA you can buy anti craddle cap too.
As I wrote that I will be flying to India on Monday..Does anybody know if i will be able to get these products there..or here I can get antidandruff from Loreal with selenium ...could I use that...
Hetal, if I don´ t get this lubriderm anywhere ..could I use baby body lotion from j&J available here in Germany. As I told about applying a mixture of vasline n full wax 95:5 here. won´ t it be too fatty for indian hot weather??? I am afraid of stopping its use too as after applying this twice a day that dry skin got better by 95 percent..I am still applying twice a day...Now I am regretting my desicion to fly to India as it would be really hot there....
I am really surprised by the behaviour of my Ped acc to whom baby should be given a bath once a week....he didn´ t talk about any bacterial infection or anything etc...please tell me about other precautions to be taken in India...I was planing to start solids in India ..I think now i will wait...
please tell me about the shampoo beacuse I would otherwise buy that from loreal tomm.
One IMPORTANT thing, Is Selsun blue & selsun( which i have seen in India) are same???????

Hetal replied. hi,even i dont know dear,how i am managng,,but thats y i m not replying all posts addrsd to me..my dr has given me strong sedative to relieve from cough n it keeps me asleep most of the times..i dont blame him,i know i too need rest :) n he knows he can put me to rest only this way LOL...

hey, head n shouldrs is the normal anti danruff shampoo,,for cradle cap its not differnt, but if you buy selsun blue, it specifically mentions in the back of the bottle that it treats seborrhea dermititis !!
it has 1% selenium sulfide..so if the loreal one has this particular ingrediant as an active one,,it should work !
look for the medicated shampoos/antidanruff ones in the malls and look for this particular ingrediant.
if the cream that you are using has made a good differnce in his skin, continue it and take it to india. apply it les or more depending on place where you are going. avoid taking your baby in direct hot sun. dress him lightly if its alot of heat whereever you are goin,,keep a cool water bottle with you, and a couple clothes for him..keep him changing and keep him fresh and keep wiping off like once in 2-3hours, with a cool water so that he doesnt have sweatng or his eczema doesnt increase.
there is nothing to be surprised for the ped advicing such things,,its quite normal ! babies dont need bath daily until 3-4months, only because they are in home and they dont sweat ! so its quite a normal practice for most drs to advice giving bath to baby even without ne skin probs like once a week or just a wipe/washcloth bath.
and esp your baby skin is dry nature n you are living in severe cold place,which explains why he said that.
if so, you can use the shampoo once a week ! no worries !
about the bacterial infection,,its normal to have these rashes for all kids with cradle cap..even samarth has them on and off..they come n go on thr own..i dont touch them.i just keep them clean. his skin is oily so i dont apply ne other cream,,while in nirja case it never came back once it was gone...
i am not sure of selsun thats available in india, but if you have the active ingrediant as above, it should help !!

about cream, ask your dr for one n tell him that you are going to hot place.. let him advice you a cream that he knows will work for your baby..this being virtual media, makes it difficult to suggest without actually seeing or having a feel of it.
avoid all the artificial fabrics or chemicals around your baby,,and it should help.
did you try not to apply nething after face wash and see if heals the rashes..because with samarth, that worked pretty well..his rashes are healing now ! the redness that you see is due to continuous inflamatn caused by rubbng of skin etc,,so see if keeping it clean all the time helps.

please help me what else to use as here the doc has refused to give anythng...n on the other hand these red spots have started spreading on my childs face n she is so restless...
